Meet friends like Borneo Bob, move away from the usual blood and gore and enjoy the life of a simple soldier mixed with war time fact, a little fiction and a lot of humour.

Corporal Tony Easterby served with 4 RAR from 1965 to 1968 in Malaysia, Borneo and South Vietnam. As a Section Commander, he was wounded in action in South Vietnam in 1968.

STARLIGHT MINOR is a remarkable story written by Daryl Farry, an RAAMC medic who was attached to C Coy 4RAR/NZ (ANZAC) during the Battalion’s first tour of South Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.

The story intertwines with the experiences of Daryl’s grandfather as a stretcher bearer in World War One with 1st Field Ambulance and Daryl’s own childhood and his experiences as a medic in Vietnam.

Daryl writes so well that the sounds, smells and experiences of our childhoods and our Vietnam experiences are echoed within his memories.
