The National Reunion of the 4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment
Venue : Twin Towns Resort, Gold Coast, Qld
Dates  : 30 January 2011 to 6 February 2011.

Welcome to the newsletter of the 4 RAR REUNION 2011. A formal invitation is extended to all former members of 4 RAR, all former members of 4 RAR/NZ ANZAC, all former and serving members of 4 RAR (Commando), all former members of 2/4 RAR, all former and  serving members of all services and corps with a recognised close association with 4 RAR and your families and guests to the 4 RAR National Reunion which is to be conducted on the Gold Coast, Queensland from Sunday 30 January 2011 to Saturday, 06 February 2011.

The aim of the reunion is to maintain the Esprit de Corps and brotherhood of all those who ever served with or supported 4 RAR; those who helped to forge the history and the honour of the Battalion whilst serving Australia and attempting to make a difference.

It does not matter where and when you served, how long you served and in what position, rank or employment you served, nor does it matter the title of the Battalion. We have all contributed in one way or another, to the history and to the honour of our Battalion and are justifiably proud to say to the world that we served in 4 RAR.
Please join us at the Twin Towns Services Club, Wharf St, Tweed Heads New South Wales. This unique location at the twin towns of Coolangatta and Tweeds Heads sits astride the border and the coastline of Queensland and New South Wales.

The main events as shown in the itinerary on page 2 are to be conducted from Monday 31 January to Friday 05 February 2011. Sunday 30 January however, has been set aside as an extra day to register and to enjoy the beauty of the Gold Coast and Saturday 06 February has been set aside for sick parade and as an opportunity to say leisurely farewells to old and newfound friends.
The Twin Towns Services Club has offered us Honorary Membership of the Club and its sister clubs; Club Banora and Twin Towns Juniors. All clubs are within a ten minute radius of each other and member discounts and privileges will apply throughout all three clubs.

A free shuttle bus will operate between all three clubs.

Subsequent newsletters will be published in a timely and informative manner. After
this first individually mailed newsletter, all those with email addresses will receive notification by email as the newsletters are posted onto the reunion website web site at
www.4rarassociationsaustralia.com, soon to come on line. Those without email will receive newsletters by postal mail. Members are invited to contact the Secretary, Barry
Cooke, with any enquiries.

All members whether intending to attend the reunion or not, are requested to provide the information requested on Part 1 of the Registration Form on page 4 to ensure that the committee has all relevant details of all members and so that the national nominal roll may be brought up to date. This will allow us to properly identify everyone and to ensure that information is passed to all. This will give us a starting point and an indication of the numbers who may attend so that detailed planning may commence.

It is intended to publish a list of names of those registered to attend in subsequent newsletters as names are received.

A detailed activities programme and merchandise list will be notified as costs are negotiated and confirmed and a lay-by system for payment will be initiated. More later.
We look forward to seeing you all in 2011 and of enjoying the company of warriors and their families.

It is hoped that a contingent of Kiwi and US veterans may be able to join us.
