Private Samuel Graham, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, was a brick maker when he was called up for National Service in July 1967 and posted to 4RAR. He sailed with the Battalion to South Vietnam in May 1968.
During Operation GOODWOOD in Bien Hoa Province on 31 January 1969, 10 Platoon contacted an enemy force in a bunker system and during the firefight, Sammy, the section forward scout, was killed along with the section machine-gunner and three others were wounded.
