Private Samuel Graham
Killed in Action; 31 January 1969
Private Samuel Graham, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, was a brick maker when he was called up for National Service in July 1967 and posted to 4 RAR. He sailed with the Battalion to South Vietnam in May 1968.
During Operation GOODWOOD in Bien Hoa Province on 31 January 1969, 10 Platoon contacted an enemy force in a bunker system and during the firefight, Sammy, the section forward scout, was killed along with the section machine-gunner, Joe Ramsay, and three others were wounded.
